This weekend promises to be a spectacular celebration of one of the most iconic races in global motorsport. Hundreds of thousands of race lovers will pack the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the one hundredth running of the Indy 500.
Ellis Clowes will be there in force with director Tim Nagle looking forward to watching the action unfold.
“At Ellis Clowes we support our clients across the globe at many of the most famous motorsport events in the calendar and it is a great thrill to be heading back to Indianapolis. It will be a hugely exciting weekend and I’m looking forward to being there for such an historic race. We have acted as insurance brokers and advisers to many drivers and teams who have competed over the years and it will be a great chance to meet old and new friends.”
Former Le Mans winner, F1 driver and Indy car winner Mark Blundell never raced the Indy 500 but recognises the significance of this weekend’s race. While the North American audience will be drawn to Indiana, Europe’s racing elite will be concentrating on the Monaco Grand Prix and the Nurburgring 24 Hour race.
Mark said: “Every racing driver at every level knows of the three great Motorsport events in the world, Monaco Grand Prix, Le Mans 24 hr and the Indianapolis 500. This year’s 500 race is very special as it will be 100th time this race is run in its esteemed history and who ever wins in 2016 will be etched in the memories of many of us for years to come, as one of the greatest drivers winning at one of the greatest tests of man and machine.”
